An Active Directory Network has both a logical and a physical structure. Active Directory is used to manage computers and other devices on a network. The following Active Directory Network diagram is created using EdrawMax and shows how real-time databases are connected to the different operators and engineering stations. These stations pass the message/data to a Gateway System and Switch, which are in return connected with several data centers from where the information is accessed. As shown in the diagram, Active Directory Network is used to locate not just the resources but also take care of the Single Sign-On service that provides the ability to a user with one set of credentials and grant them access across a range of resources and services with the same set of login-id and password.
