A Process Flow Diagram is used in the process and chemical engineering. The attached diagram shows the flow of chemicals and the equipment involved in the process. As shown in the beer production PFD, the raw materials for beer production generally include cereal, hops, water, and yeast. As shown in the beer processing process flow diagram, the malting process converts the starch in the cereal into fermentable sugar which is extracted from the malt during mashing. The beer production process starts with filtration then goes to carbonation and then the process of dilution and cleaning-in-place. After the entire beer processing happens, the packaging operations happen that includes bottle washing, packaging, and distribution.
