A context diagram is a top-level (also known as Level 0) data flow diagram. The bank workflow context diagram only contains one process node that generalizes the function of the entire system in relationship to external entities. The bank workflow context diagram is designed to show savings accounts, current accounts, and balance showing the system as a single process, with its relationship to external entities of Customers, Employees, Customer relationship manager, funds manager, risk manager, and others. The bank workflow context diagram also shows how a fund manager creates a portfolio, gets a list of funds, and adds funds to the portfolio. Also, the high-level process diagram shows the steps that a credit-checker performs in order to check the credit history.
