A work breakdown structure (WBS) is a system of breaking down a project or programme into manageable tasks, phases, deliverables or work packages (subdivision of effort). An example is the building of a house which represents the top-level deliverable. This diagram has four levels. In first level house is breakdown into grounds, structure, subsystems and project management. In second and third level branching of breakdown level takes place, ground is sub branched into drive way, front yard and rear yard. Subsystems is sub branched into mechanical and electrical. And lastly project management is sub branched into layout and permit. Fourth level is sub branching of structure into foundation, framing & windows. EdrawMax allows its users create their own work breakdown process & make them understand in better way.
