The powerline network configuration is designed for apartment complexes or businesses who need to expand their network but are unable to obtain more ethernet connections. In such cases, Powerline Adapters are used to expand the network over electrical cables. A Powerline adaptor, as illustrated in the Powerline Network Diagram below, uses ordinary electrical cabling in the home to transport network communications.
