IDEF (Integrated Definition) is a graphical approach for applying processes and applications in process simulation. IDEF0 comes particularly handy when it comes to determining the scope of analysis, especially when it comes to functional analysis. IDEF0 offers simplified visualization to enhance industry expert participation and collaborative decision-making as a cooperation mechanism. Arrow, box, contexts and node trees are the main components of any IDEF0. In IDEF0, original boxes and pictures with arrows are used to create diagrams. The detail follows a hierarchical structure, with the primary functions at the top and sub-function phases that are well-bounded. There is a node map to provide a simple index basically inside the hierarchical structure.
