A food web science diagram is a complicated, interconnected diagram that displays the total food connections among species in a particular habitat. It is a "who eats whom" type of diagram that shows the complex feeding relationships in a given ecosystem. A food web is often made up of several interwoven food chains. Each food chain is a descriptive graphic that shows the flow of food energy from one feeding group to the next by a series of arrows that go from one species to the next. Food webs can be used to see if community structure is determined from the ground up or from the top down.
