Quality Function Deployment, or QFD, is a method used to identify critical customer attributes and create a specific link between customer attributes and design parameters. In a general sense, a QFD Industrial diagram is used to translate customer requirements (or VOC) into measurable design targets and drive them from the assembly level down through the sub-assembly, component, and production process levels. On the industrial level, QFD combines various design engineering and managerial tools to create a customer‐oriented approach to developing new products. It should be noted here that QFD is the deployment of customer-driven qualities to the response functions of an organization.
