As shown in the diagram below, there are some ways to create a home evacuation plan. It starts with drawing the home floor plan using a home escape plan template, followed by labeling all the rooms and identifying the doors and windows, providing alternatives for anyone with a disability, and understanding to include specific evacuation procedures for high-rise buildings. Where appropriate other organizations should also be consulted, especially when your organization's plan involves using outside resources, such as fire, police, or ambulance; in some situations, one organization may develop shared response teams with neighboring organizations. As the 2D diagram illustrates, a home evacuation plan is helpful in such cases if a serious injury or fatality occurs.
