Alana Shetterly's family relationship diagram is shown below.
Various groups of individuals are currently using genograms in a range of sectors, including medical, psychiatry, social work, genetic research, education, and youth work, to mention a few. For personal records and/or to explain family dynamics to their clients, most social work practitioners in personal and family therapy utilize genograms with sociograms.
A genogram is a visual representation of a person's family history and relationships. It goes beyond a typical family tree in that it allows the makers to see patterns and psychological aspects that influence relationships. This new system displayed the client with other family members such as parents, grandparents, spouses, siblings, children, nephews, and nieces.
