As per the diagram below, the difference is that the Chinese Revolution occurred much later and lasted much longer than the Russian Revolution. Communism triumphed in China in 1949, 30 years after the Russian Revolution. The similarities between the two are mainly about the time gap. As the Venn Diagram suggests, both revolutions occurred at the end of the two world wars. The Russian Revolution of 1917 occurred only a year before the end of World War II.
