The Addams Family is an American macabre/black comedy sitcom based on Charles Addams' New Yorker cartoon characters. David Levy and Donald Saltzman devised and developed the 30-minute television series, which was shot in black-and-white and shown on ABC for two seasons from September 18, 1964, to April 8, 1966, for a total of 64 episodes.
