A motor starter provides defense by first controlling the electrical output of your device or equipment at its initial point of operation. As shown in the starter motor diagram, when you turn the engine on, the starter protects the system, operating as a fail-safe. In most cases, a starter motor is attached to the end of the shaft via a pinion gear, and when the ignition is turned on, the starter motor activates, and an electromagnet inside it pushes a rod out with the pinion gear.
