A general genogram shows here. What is a genogram? A genogram is a visual representation of a family system that includes at least three generations. Its purpose is to assist the system member (in this case, you) in visualizing their context so that pivotal moments and notable patterns can be recognized and recorded (Kerr & Bowen, 1988). Murray Bowen created the genogram, which has subsequently been used by various family therapy approaches as well as disciplines outside of family therapy.
