A RACI matrix, aka RACI chart, is a responsibility assignment matrix in project management. In practice, it is a simple excel sheet or table that lists all project stakeholders and their level of involvement in every task, specified by the letters R, A, C, or I. The acronym RACI stands for responsible, accountable, consultative, and informed. A RACI chart is the matrix that lists all of an organization's activities or decision-making authorities about all of its people or roles. The RACI model adds structure and clarity to describing stakeholders' roles in a project. The RACI matrix clarifies responsibilities and ensures that everything that needs to be done for the project is assigned to someone.
