The residence structure of the ground floor is displayed on the ground floor of the White House. Ground Floor rooms were the domain of White House servants until the end of the nineteenth century, when they were most likely used as a bedroom or storeroom. During President Theodore Roosevelt's complete renovation of the White House in 1902, this room was converted into a coat/dressing room for female guests. Originally, the Ground Floor of the White House housed service rooms. The White House is situated on a small, sloping hill to the south. The first family occupies the second and third floors of the house. They primarily reside on the second floor. The main bedroom, living room, and family kitchen are all located on this floor.
