A roof framing plan represents the frame components of a structure or building. The primary goal of the Roof Framing Plan is to assist both contractors and manufacturers in taking accurate measurements and determining construction feasibility and material requirements for construction projects. A roof plan depicts the shape of the roof. The roof framing plan is very similar to the roof plan, but it also shows the size and direction of the framing members used to frame the roof, the shape of the structure, and the outline of the roof. Simple roofs, such as a shed or a common gable, are relatively simple to build, even without plans, if you understand the fundamentals and a little geometry.
