This Shed Roof Framing Plan demonstrates how to frame a shed roof. Traditionally, all of the parts—rafters, ridge boards, collar ties, and ceiling joists—are cut and installed one board at a time. The advantage of this method is that the boards can be easily lifted and nailed into place by a single person. You will, however, spend a significant amount of time climbing up and down ladders, which can be exhausting. This Shed Roof Framing Plan also depicts an alternative method of constructing the roof frame on the ground to form individual roof trusses. The trusses are ready to use once they have been put together.
