The Context Diagram is also a company's Level 0 data flow diagram. It generally provides a high-level overview of the entire system or process being analyzed or modeled. It is intended to be a high-level overview of the system, displaying it as a single high-level process with its relationships to external entities. This Level 0 data flow diagram for the company contains the least detail and usually includes one or two steps, whereas a Level 4 flow chart consists of the most point and can include hundreds of steps. Every task, no matter how minor, is represented at this level. The goal of this DFD is to demonstrate the scope and boundaries of a system as a whole.
