There are various types of motor control schematics, as shown in the ladder diagram, that can be divided into two distinct parts. The first is the power component, and the second is the control component. The primary focus of the power portion is to show the flow of power to a motor or different device in a factory environment. In the following ladder diagram, there are four basic motor controller and drive types: AC, DC, servo, and stepper, each with an input power type that has been modified to match the desired output function for an application. An AC servo motor, a DC brushless motor, and a stepper motor are shown left to right. In control circuit drawings, two basic types of diagrams are frequently encountered: (1) the one-line diagram and (2) the ladder diagram.
