A genogram is a diagram that depicts a person's family relatives, how they are linked, and their medical history. The genogram enables the patient to observe ancestral behavioral tendencies as well as physical and psychological issues that run in families. The genogram can be created by hand and then input into the ecosystemic intake, or it can be completed using one of various genogram computer applications that are currently available. The genogram is a popular way for determining who is in the family and what roles essential family members perform in relation to one another. The biological family is included in the traditional genogram; however, genograms may also include individuals based on the function they fulfill within the family.
