This Government Hierarchy Chart depicts the federal government of the United States of America. The Federal Government is divided into three branches: legislative, executive, and judicial, whose powers are delegated to Congress, the President, and the Federal courts, respectively, by the United States Constitution. This Government Hierarchy Chart also includes Federal agencies and commissions in charge of tasks as diverse as managing America's space program, protecting its forests, gathering intelligence, and advancing the general welfare of the American people. The Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution reserves all powers not granted to the Federal Government to the states and the people.
