The information contained in the Reflected Ceiling Plan is required by nearly everyone involved in the construction process, from interior designers and architects to electricians and plumbers. This section of the Reflected Ceiling Plan contains critical information about light fixtures and lighting plans, HVAC mounts, sprinklers, smoke detectors, any equipment requiring special venting, and any other mechanical or electrical object on the ceiling. The main purpose of an RCP in a set of blueprints is to show the interior designer or architect how lighting works in the room. However, a builder or engineer must first determine the ceiling-to-floor balance and include those dimensions in the layout.
