Metropolitan Area Network Diagram is a computer network that spans an entire city, college campus, or small region. This network is larger than a LAN, typically restricted to a single building or site. Depending on the configuration, Metropolitan Area Network Diagram network can cover an area ranging from several miles to tens of miles. When a LAN connects to a distant LAN using modems, direct digit devices, or any media type, it is referred to as a Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). Various LANs in a metropolitan area network are linked together via telephone lines. The Metropolitan Area Network is larger than LANs.
