The layout of Seaview Terrace is depicted in this Seaview Terrace plan. The Carey Mansion, also known as Seaview Terrace, is privately owned in Newport, Rhode Island. It was built in 1925 in the French Renaissance Revival Châteauesque style. It was the last of the great "Summer Cottages" to be made and is the fifth-largest mansion in Newport, following The Breakers, Ochre Court, Belcourt Castle, and Rough Point. The Carey Mansion is also depicted on this Seaview terrace plan. Millicent and Martin T. Carey of New York bought the mansion in 1974. The Careys faced high maintenance costs because their estate was one of the largest in Newport. Salve Regina University leased the main house and gatehouse and renamed the Carey Mansion.
