This VRIO Matrix Diagram is a four-part business analysis framework used to determine a company's competitive potential. The analysis process moves a resource or capability through four dimensions (value, rarity, imitability, and organization). These dimensions determine whether the help or capability in question is one-of-a-kind, easily replicable, or has a sufficient organization to capture value. According to the VRIO model below, the answer to the questions is a simple "Yes" or "No," and the analysis order is Valuable Rare Imitable Organized. If the answer to one of the steps is "No," the analysis of the resource or capability under consideration is halted, and the subsequent questions are not addressed.
