This program outcome diagram depicts what a program or process is to do, achieve, or accomplish for its improvement and in support of institutional or divisional goals, typically driven by numbers, needs, or satisfaction. Quality, quantity, fiscal sustainability, facilities and infrastructure, and growth can all be addressed. A program/operational outcome describes what the program will do, whereas a learning outcome describes the learning/impact that a program or service has on students/stakeholders. Historically, student affairs have described its work through program/operational outcomes rather than learning outcomes.
