This The Lord of the Rings timeline is set in Middle-Second earth's Age, hundreds of years before the show of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. There will be very little of Frodo or Bilbo in this production. The series opens in relative peace and follows an ensemble cast of familiar and new characters as they prepare for the long-awaited return of evil to Middle-earth. These kingdoms and characters will leave legacies that will live long after they are gone, from the darkest desires of the Misty Mountains to majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon and the breathtaking island kingdom of Numenor, to the farthest reaches of the map.
