The Open Group began developing TOGAF in 1995, based on the US Department of Defense's TAFIM and Capgemini's Integrated Architecture Framework (IAF). According to The Open Group, TOGAF is used by 80% of Global 50 companies and 60% of Fortune 500 companies as of 2016.
