This Activity Diagram Template, like a flowchart or a data flow diagram, visually represents a series of actions or the flow of control in a system. In business process modeling, activity diagrams are frequently used. They can also use a use case diagram to describe the steps. Modeled activities can be both sequential and concurrent. In both cases, an activity diagram will have a beginning (an initial state) and an end. The initial action state or starting point for any activity diagram is represented by a small filled circle followed by an arrow. When creating an activity diagram with swimlanes, ensure the start point is in the top left corner of the first column.
