This ATM Use Case Diagram represents a banking subsystem (subject) that allows bank customers to conduct financial transactions in public without the assistance of a cashier, clerk, or bank teller. The customer (actor) uses a bank ATM to check account balances, deposit funds, withdraw cash, and transfer funds (use cases). ATM technicians provide maintenance and repairs. These use cases involve Bank actors, whether related to customer transactions or ATM servicing. The customer is authenticated at most bank ATMs by inserting a plastic ATM card and entering a personal identification number (PIN). Because the Customer Authentication use case is required for all ATM transactions, we display it as an included relationship.
