The competition will be held in Australia and New Zealand in 2023, making it the first edition to be held in the Southern Hemisphere, the first Womens World Cup to be hosted by two countries, and the first FIFA senior competition for either men or women to span two confederations. The United States has won four times and is the current champion after winning the tournament in France in 2019. Germany took home two titles, while Japan and Norway each took home one.
