When it comes to doing business with other companies, the wholesale model is one of the oldest and most established options. Raw materials are purchased by manufacturers, who then send their finished products on to wholesalers and retailers, who in turn sell them to consumers. A business model is represented by each of these groups. The intermediaries who sell products from manufacturers to businesses are part of the wholesale business model in the above standard supply chain. Wholesalers almost never sell directly to consumers.
