A decision chart is a helpful tool to visualize the possible outcomes of a given situation. It follows a tree structure and can help people identify the possible combinations of results and their respective probabilities. For example, if someone orders a dish at a restaurant, there are two possible outcomes - they may like it (0.6) or not (0.4). If they order dessert after the meal, there are again two outcomes – they may like it (0.75) or not (0.25). Using a decision chart, we can easily see that by combining the probabilities for each course, there are four different scenarios with varying probabilities for each outcome.
